DESCRIPTION

SYNTAX IT Group is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Cyber Security Engineer to join our professional services team.

As we expand our cybersecurity capabilities, we are strengthening our team to address evolving threats and deliver robust, future-ready security solutions to our clients.

In this role, you will lead efforts to fortify client cybersecurity infrastructures, assess and implement effective security solutions, and support a high standard of data protection across diverse environments.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with stakeholders to assess and enhance the organization’s security posture and GRC activities.

  • Performing Government focused activities such as:
    – Acting as vCISO.
    – Establishing an ISMS framework or components of it, according to industry standards such as ISO27001.
    – Creating or reviewing information security documentation (such as Policies, Standards, Procedures etc.) to ensure coverage and effectiveness.
    – Performing Security Awareness Training.
    – Gathering information around existing security controls and assist in identifying KPIs.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc. degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • M.Sc. degree will be considered a plus.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in security engineering with hands-on experience with various tools across relevant domains, especially the ones of: Infrastructure and Application Security; Data Governance and Data Backup; Identity Management and Access Control; Vulnerability Assessment Management; Incident Response & Threat Intelligence.

  • Strong knowledge of security standards, frameworks or legislations (e.g., ISO 27001, NIS2 / DORA, PCI DSS and GDPR compliance) will be considered a plus.

  • Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISM, CISSP) are highly regarded.
    Familiarity with various operating systems and networking protocols to ensure effective integration of security solutions.

  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft server systems (Active

  • Directory, DNS, DHCP, etc.) and Cloud Technologies.

  • Familiarity with Office 365 administration and Microsoft SQL Server.

  • Proficiency in both Greek and English, with effective communication and presentation abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively or independently as required.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
